Port Regis Residential Home and The Dementia Care Centre stand in 17 acres of private parkland, surrounded by North Foreland Golf Course and leading down to Kingsgate Bay. It provides modern en suite facilities for the care of the elderly in a tranquil, caring environment.
Port Regis is steeped in history, it was built by Lord Holland in 1750 as a convent, but was used as a retirement home for his most loyal staff.
In 1994 the present owners Colin and Angela Townsend carried out an extensive and sympathetic restoration to provide modern facilities for the care of the elderly. Port Regis provides very spacious communal areas, all overlooking the extensive gardens, including a fine dinning room. The West Wing Dementia Care Centre was built in 1999 and is designed as a safe unit, with its own enclosed garden. With 25 years of experience providing care to the elderly,Townsend Life Care pride themselves on keeping the facilities up to date and making sure the residents settle into their new homes.
Jean Amber is our home manager, she has been ensuring the smooth running of the home for over 15 years. She is also assisted by a great team of 5 deputy managers. We ensure that all our workforce our highly trained and continue to improve their skills and knowledge.
